Dating, partners and friends
When the people around you notice a change
For adults whose relationships are shifting as they work out who they are.
New dating, a partner's questions, a friendship that feels different, a first time at a place where you weren't sure you'd fit. Sessions give you somewhere to talk it through before and after, and to sort what you want from what you think you should.
Sessions might include
Starting to date, or starting again
A partner who has questions of their own
Friendships that feel different now

The details
How it works, and what it isn't
How Jamal works
Talk therapy. Jamal listens, asks about the people who matter to you and what you want from them. He explains his approach, and where he trained, in your first session.
What this isn't
It isn't couples therapy. Sessions are for you. If you and a partner want to work together, Jamal can suggest colleagues who see couples.
Length and frequency
Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start with one every week or two and change it as they go. Your counselor sets the pace with you, and Jamal doesn't promise a number of sessions.
How it's paid
Open Shutter is out of network. Your fee is given in writing before you start, and Jamal can give you a monthly receipt for a plan that reimburses.
How fees work
Three questions about this
Can my partner come to a session?
Sessions are one-to-one. If you and a partner want to work together, Jamal can suggest colleagues who see couples.
Do I need to be dating anyone?
No. Plenty of people come to talk about friends, family or no one at all.
Does Jamal help with dating itself?
He doesn't match people or coach. Sessions are about what you want and how you feel about it.

A message is all it takes. You can ask a question first, with nothing booked.
